Getcontact Comes to Turkey!

Getcontact’s newest market is Turkey, a country with one of the highest spam call counts in the world.

Already recognized globally as one of the most successful spam call blocking apps, Getcontact entered the Turkey market with a strong TV commercial. The advertisement, created by global brand and customer experience agency VMLY&R in Istanbul, was directed by Can Pehlivanlı from Norr Film Production.

The Turkey commercial, which began airing via national channels on April 5, 2022, for two weeks, was an all-encompassing, large-scale campaign supported by social media ads, influencer activity, and unique content for each social platform (including short, dynamic videos).

The Person You Have Called Cannot Be Swindled At The Moment!

The commercial shows the point of view of scammers and covers a range of scamming techniques. It takes place in the “office” of phone scammers who are busy spam calling people and trying to scam them with various tactics.

The people receiving these calls learn that the callers are scammers thanks to the Getcontact app’s warning on the phone screen, which says “Spam Call” (part of the app’s caller identification feature). They then make fun of the scammers by answering the phone with “The Person You Have Called Cannot Be Swindled at the Moment!” This results in hilarious reactions from the would-be scammers as they fail in their mission.

Since the commercial aired, many fraud victims have taken to social media to share their stories and the spam text messages they’ve received from scammers, along with the funny slogan: “The Person You Have Called Cannot Be Swindled at the Moment!” The ad campaign proved incredibly successful, creating a huge awareness of spam risk, spam calls and scammers. It’s been nominated for 2022 advertisement awards.
