Getcontact Crowned with Success in Russia for its TV Advertising Campaign

Given that one in every four calls is spam or fraud in Russia, Getcontact, a leading spam protection and caller ID application, recently released a campaign to help protect mobile phone users.

Getcontact’s advert, shown on all Russian national TV channels from October 13, 2021, is based around their slogan, “Stop Guessing – Know Who Is Calling.” Getcontact worked on this campaign with successful creative agency Takeshot Films, with the lead character played by the lovely presenter and actress Yulia Koval. Leo Gorenshtein was the director behind it all!

Stop Guessing – Know Who Is Calling!

When the phone starts ringing, you can’t just ignore it, right? You naturally wonder who’s calling you. The same case occurs for the protagonist in Getcontact’s ad! A young woman, eating pizza while relaxing in her living room, ponders over an unknown caller. She tries guessing who it could be – a salesperson, perhaps? Or possibly the guy from the bar she just met the day before? Or, worst case… could it be her ex-boyfriend? Thankfully, the woman has downloaded the Getcontact app so she can check who the caller is before answering her phone.

The campaign addresses a serious issue in an entertaining way. The overall message helps the audience be aware that Getcontact, through its ‘Caller ID’ feature, offers the chance to know who is calling. By using the app, there’s no need to worry about spam calls and unknown callers.

Campaign performance

Everyone can associate with the ad’s message because Getcontact creatively addressed a relatable problem. The campaign proved very successful, partly due to the extensive marketing plan covering TV airings, digital performance marketing and influencer collaborations on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube.

The ad was well-received by the public and generated a lot of social media engagement. Campaign-related content under the hashtag #знайктозвонит reached 468 million views on Instagram alone –a staggering amount!
